What is the difference between love and acceptance?

Acceptance is recieving someone or something without rejection of any part of them. I accept the idea of an apple. Its red or green, white on the inside, has seeds, a stem, and tastes sweet. I accept it. I do not deny or try to change any part of it.

Love is a selfless choice to or towards someone or something. It is NOT acceptance. Love is to throw yourself away and do all you can to benefit, bring glory to, or raise awareness of someone or something. To act without mind of your own safety and lose yourself in the danger of pursuing something else.

This world today has warped love INTO acceptance. No longer can we guide gays, murderers, promisciuous people, or liers in the ways of Jesus; in love. Now we are called to ACCEPT them. "I'm a homosexual, just accept it and don't argue with me."

This thinking is against the Bible! Jesus called out sinners often! But He did it in a LOVING way, one that would benefit, bring glory to, or raise the awareness (about God) for them. We most LOVE our country and its people's, not accept them.

Also, acceptance is a term used in churches all over. So is love. Many say that accepting Jesus Christ is the source of salvation... I believe otherwise. To accept Him is to recognize that He is God and died on the cross for our sins and now He has risen again. But even the demons know this! To LOVE God, a sure SIGN of salvation (though its not salvation), is to live selflessly!! To give your all to Jesus! To love Him more, abound in His joy, live for His peace. To walk with Him and not live for Him. To LOVE.
