“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” - Matthew 6:33 (HCSB)
I’m seeing this verse come true before my eyes. Six months ago, I felt God prompting me to contact a missions organization about their summer short term trip to Zambia. I told Him that I was willing to send the email, but that if He wanted me to go, then He’d have to provide the money, the passport, the immunizations, etc. And bonus points if He gave me a friend to go as well; that way I could end the day by relating my experiences to someone else!
With God doing all the heavy lifting, while I just took the next logical step after seeing Him move, I am now fully supported! I also have my passport, my immunizations, and even a friend coming with me. The only thing that is stopping me from going is time… and soon, I’ll be on a plane to Zambia!
This is incredible! How could this have happened? I didn’t put a penny towards this trip, and yet, God has provided over $4200 for me to go! Six months ago, I doubted raising so much money was possible, but now I know it’s just the tip of the iceberg with God.
I can’t even begin to imagine what it’ll be like in Africa. I’ll be assigned a translator and a dozen or so orphans to work with, to teach, and to play with. When I think of what it’ll be like, a big smile grows on my face. To hear their laughter, to see their smiles, and to know that they are hearing about Jesus Christ… it’s incredible to think about.
When I consider the passions God has given me, I know that working with kids is a big one. This trip seems so well-suited to me, and my heart feels full when I know I’ll be going. I guess this is just all of the ways God is providing for me!
When you think the impossible is just that, don’t forget that God is so much bigger. I’ve seen Him answer prayers in incredible ways; and I am the least deserving to have them answered. Keep dreaming the dreams you hold dear in your heart. Look for the ways you can bring them about in our world, because when God gives you a dream, it’ll impact the world in incredible ways. He invites us to join Him in His work, and He delights when He is able to use us for His glory.
While I await my departure to Africa, I’m also praying about the dream He has for me today. And for tomorrow. What He might possibly want me to do or accomplish; how I can impact the world around me; how I can redeem it back to it’s original purpose. Maybe it’s putting a smile on someone’s face, or encouraging them through a hard time, or writing something on a blog!
No matter what it is, as long as God’s there, I want to be there too. And that’s what it means to #LiveItLikeJesus.
Hey! You don't happen to be there with the Morris's do you?

I don't believe I will be! But it'd be pretty cool if it turns out that I am!
